Windows 8, AMD Cuts Prices of HD 7000

Windows 8 is set to release on October 26, 2012. Windows 8 Pro is available for $40 for people upgrading from Windows 7, and $15 for people who purchased a Windows 7 PC after June 2nd.

Facing stiff competition from NVIDIA, AMD has now lowered their pricing of HD 7000 GPUs as follows:
  • Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition: US $499
  • Radeon HD 7970: US $429
  • Radeon HD 7950: US $349
  • Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition: US $299
  • Radeon HD 7850: US $249
Expect price drops of GTX 600 series to fall shortly after, if you can find them.
