Intel Developer Forum: Day Two

Intel announced that the next generation of "Enthuasist" CPUs will be coming out in Q3 2013, them being the Ivy Bridge-E platform. They will be numbered as the i7-49XX processors and will work on existing X79 LGA 2011 motherboards. Also expected is 4 channel DDR3-1866 support.

On another note, Intel's i7-3970X is set to replace the 3960X as the "Extreme" processor, clocked at 3.5 GHz and turboing up to 4 GHz. Sadly, the TDP rises to 150W as a consequence.
