2012 Technology Year in Review: Google Nexus 7 (July)

Joining their Nexus mobile phones, Google introduced the first tablet in the Nexus family, the Nexus 7. Designed as a low-cost tablet to rival Apple's iPad, it surely garnered lots of sales. Starting at $200 for the 8 (now 16GB) model, it came packed with high-end components for a very low price. Seeing that it was a Nexus device meant that it would come with the newest version of the Android operating system, in this case, Jelly Bean 4.1. Although it originally launched with 8GB and 16GB models, Google released one with 32GB later on, with an option for 3G connectivity as well.
