A Decade of iTunes

The electronic music industry has been revolutionized by Apple’s iTunes, which was introduced 10 years ago from Sunday. Within a few years of its launch, it became the most popular music retailer in the world and still remains popular today.

The current iTunes has expanded to include all types of media, from podcasts and television, to music and apps. The iTunes store has already hit 1 billion song downloads in 2006 and two months ago, it has reached an incredible 25 billion song downloads worldwide.

Apple created an interactive timeline to commemorate this event, which is available on the cover of the iTunes stores. It gives users a glance at the UI of iTunes at the time, and it features the top selling songs of that period as well.
