Timely: Now completely free and completely awesome!

One of the best alarm apps on the Play store, Timely, is now free! Android fanatics have heard of it before because it is a new take on what alarm clocks can be. Unlike the ugly old stock alarms, Timely has sleek and modern clock faces along with a live wallpaper-esque background. There are also many designs to choose from and the UI is extremely fluid. Other than the asthetics, the alarms are set with intuitive gestures and the app also features Smart Rise. Smart Rise is an alarm mode based on the sleep-cycle theory and will have a gentle alarm starting 30 minutes before alarm, waking you from your deep sleep.

The Swiss company behind the beautifully designed alarm, Bitspin, has recently been acquired by Google. Along with the app being free, all the premium content is now also free. Bitspin stated this on their website, “We’re thrilled to announce that Bitspin is joining Google, where we’ll continue to do what we love: building great products that are delightful to use,”, suggesting that they will be still developing apps independently of Google, at least for now.

It is really an exciting to think the future versions of Android may have the fluidity and beauty of Timely. Maybe the next version of Android will include a version of Timely as the stock clock app. A bright future of smooth and pretty UIs is in front of us.
