Amazon Dash

Amazon one-click ordering just got even easier, the virtual button on your screen is no physical with Amazon's press-and-order Dash Button

Amazon's new Dash button allows Amazon Prime members to order everyday household items with the press of their Dash button. Once the button is pressed, Amazon will ship the item or items to the users house hold within two days. You will also get a notification for the order on your phone in case you choose to cancel the order or happen to have kids who like pressing buttons. Some of the participating brands include Tide, Bounty, Gillette, Kraft, Clorox, Glad, Cottonelle, Gatorade, Smart Water and Huggies.

Each Dash button will have its own brand logo and will have adhesive on the back so it can be placed on any surface. The battery powered buttons connect to wifi in order to send order confirmations to smartphones as well as send the order to Amazon. The buttons only respond to a single press so even if you do have trigger happy kids you wont end up with 50 packs of toilet paper.

Amazon chose an interesting day to announce this, making many to believe that it was an early April Fools joke, but Amazon has confirmed it is not a hoax. Prime members in the US will get a button for free but it is on an invitation-only basis.
