New Ultra Slim iPod Touch

Following the release of the iPhone 5 today, Apple announced a brand new slimmer, faster, widescreen-ier, iPod Touch. Oddly enough, the new iPod Touch looks like a larger version of the new iPod Nano, or maybe its the other way around...Anyway, this new iPod Touch weighs only 88 grams and is only 6.1mm thick, 6.1!!!

However the new iPod Touch will not use the same processor as the new iPhone 5 but instead the A5 processor found in the previous iPhone 4S, which should be more than enough. The Touch gets an upgraded rear-facing 5 MP camera, the new Lightning connector, Siri, and the new iPhone's 4-inch widescreen retina display. All the upgraded hardware is supposed to give you up to 40 hours of music playback, and with hours of video, which isn't bad. It's even powerful enough to power home theatre, with built-in 1080p mirroring to your TV via Apple's AirPlay.

The iPod Touch will be available in five colours (2 less than the Nano) which is a larger selection than the previous version (Black, White). For some odd reason, it includes a little knob on the back corner that allows for a wrist strap to be attached so you can look stupid while using your new iPod this October. The new Touch starts at a steep $300 U.S for the 32 GB model, but it is really thin.

Leave a comment below on whether or not you will buy the new iPod Touch and if the wrist strap is a good idea.
