UPDATED: Arma 3 Alpha Announced!

Updated with launch trailer.

On February 25, Bohemia Interactive announced the Arma 3 Alpha, which will be available on Steam. The Alpha test will feature four missions (Infantry, Vehicles, SCUBA, and Helicopter), several weapons and vehicles, two mutliplayer scenarios, and the scenario editor (with modding support).

There will be four versions of the game available for Alpha testers, three of which will launch on March 5, 2013. These three will have varying costs, but provide access to the Beta test, and of course, the final game.

The Arma 3 Alpha costs $32.99, and will include the aforementioned features.

The Arma 3 Digital Deluxe Edition costs $49.99, and will include the aforementioned features and the following extras:

  • Digital Soundtrack
  • Digital Maps
  • Digital tactical guide
  • Steam gift of Arma: Cold War Assualt
Both of these variants will increase in cost once the Beta test is released.

The Arma 3 Supporter Edition will cost $91.99, and will be available from Bistudio's store. It includes all the extras of the Digital Deluxe Edition and more:
  • Steam gift of Arma X
  • All future Arma 3 DLCs
  • A special medal for the forums
  • Your name featured in the credits
The last one, Arma 3 Alpha Lite, will be free-of-charge, but will release on March 14 and expire on June 15.  It will not include multiplayer and modding support. Furthermore, it is invite-only. Codes can be obtained from players who have paid for the Alpha, or from social media and gaming websites. The Lite version will not provide access to the Beta and does not include a copy of the final game.
