Wii U set to release on November 18th

Nintendo announced that the new upcoming Wii U will be priced at $300 for the basic model and $350 for a deluxe version. It will be available on November 18th, just in time for the holidays. The basic model comes in white with 8 GB of internal memory while the deluxe model will come in black instead and come with more features such as 32 GB of internal memory. Nintendo has once again tried to revolutionize gaming by introducing a new controller called the Wii U Gamepad. This builds upon the previous Wii remote by adding a tablet like touch-screen to the motion sensing controller. The Wii U will also be able to play games made for the original Wii.

Nintendo announced that the newest game in their widely popular franchise, New Super Mario Bros. U, will be available the same day the console is released. The Wii U will also have a list of new entertainment features such as the "Nintendo TVii". This feature allows users to watch movies, TV shows and sports on either the TV or the screen integrated on the tablet. This also includes paid streaming services such as Hulu and Netflix.

On the specs side, all we know so far is that the Wii U will have 2 GB of ram (1 GB system memory and 1 GB for games), an IBM powered multi-core GPU as well as AMD delivering the graphics horsepower. Nintendo is keeping this information to themselves so far and more information will be avealable closer or after the release date. The Wii U will still be able to push out 1080P videos to your big screen as well as delivering six-channel audio to your home theatre.  A huge improvement over the original Wii. The Wii U will also have a HDMI port as well as S-Video and component to get the pictures to your TV. You can also expect 8022.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and NFC as well.
