2012 Gaming Year in Review: Playstation Vita (February)

In February 2012, Sony announced the PS VITA. It was the first portable game console that had two touch screens, one on the back and one on the front, as well as having 3G data connectivity. It was launched with many of the popular Sony games such as Little Big Planet and Wipe Out. Sony decided to move away from their previous UMD disks with the previous PSPs and base it completely on flash memory. Many people believed that portable consoles were dead and the PS VITA was not going to become a hit. The PS VITA introduced many new features that were not seen on any other portable device. The most notable features would be the dual analog sticks and the dual touch screens.
