AMD Announces Radeon HD 7790

AMD and its partners announced today that they were set to release the new Radeon HD 7790 based on the new 28nm manufacturing process named "Bonair". The 7790 is made to fill the gap between the 7770 and the 7850. It features 896 stream processors based on the Graphics Core Next architecture, dual-independent tessellation units, 56 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, with 1GB of memory. It has a core clock of 1.00GHz and a memory clock of 6.00GHz, with a memory bandwidth of 96 GB/s.

The 7790 offers an updated dynamic clock adjustment technology, which works to give gamers more access to its 1.00 GHz clock speed while also working to reduce power draw. The card draws power from a single 6-pin PCIe power connector and is stated to have a 85W TDP. The 7790 has a selection of two DVI connectors, one HDMI, and one DisplayPort for output The MSRP of the 7790 is $149.99 but add-in board partners have factory overclocked versions or aftermarket coolers that may sell for more.
